Academy of Christian Drama
The El-gibbor Academy of Christian Performing Arts (TEACPA) is a wing of El-gibbor Ministries created for the major purpose of training young drama ministers in gospel film and theatre in different areas of specialization. An introductory module on the ‘Overview of Christian Drama Ministry’ is common to all the specializations.
Church Drama Ministry
This content is designed for Drama workers in the Church. It prepares them for the challenges of drama presentation in the present day church and how best to capture the attention of the congregation while ensuring that the message being staged is articulately addressed. Church leaders or Church Overseers/Coordinators often see this as a training ground for the members of their drama departments.
- Spiritual expectations of drama ministers
Students who enrol for the acting course will be exposed to the standards required for day-to-day involvement in stage, film and Television acting viz: speech delivery, composure, body movement/language/carriage, script memorization, reading and creative interpretation of lines within the context of a story, interactionism, characterization and performing ethics.
- Script Writing
Our resource teams of highly gifted and technically sound script-writing specialists are equipped with impactful skills of teaching scripting for film, Television and stage, from inspiration to dialogue arrangement, writing ethics and rules.
Individuals who enrol in the directing classes are usually furnished with the basic requirements and skills needed for television, film, stage and documentary directing, handling of artistes, crew and synchronization of all the departments of production.
Students for costuming are trained on the factors responsible for the choice of costumes in relation to the sets involved. A good relationship shall be established between costuming and characterization in film, television and stage ministrations.
Make- Up and Special Effects
The Art of Make-Up Is fundamentally treated both theoretically and in practical terms. A clear distinction is being made between make up and special effects in television. The types, forms and purposes of make-up and special effects will equip the students with the skills to match make-up special effects with the characterization of the dramatic personae within context of the ministration.
Individuals interested in Set Design as a career in the technical wing of the arts academy will be privileged with the opportunity of getting themselves exposed to the rudiments of set transformation without change in location. Set aesthetics and artistic skills will assist the set designer in complying with the changing trend in film, stage and television set arrangements. Students will also be exposed to the processes of visualizing the required set design based on the dictates of the script.
Sound and sound effects are very crucial in any film, television and stage performance. Persons admitted to the sound classes will be trained on the technicalities of standard sound outputs especially for film, television and documentary presentations. The students will be exposed to the rudiments of synchronizing sound with pictures and how specific sound effects can match with the mood and tempo of motion pictures.
The Production Management class will prepare students towards meeting with the challenges of standard planning, organizing, coordinating, implementation and control in film, television and stage production. Individuals are trained on the rudiments of motivating the cast and crew of productions for optimum performance. This course is strictly recommended for individuals who hope to have a rewarding ministerial career in producing, logistics and operations management.
Activities involved in post-production include Editing, Marketing, Distribution and Logistics, Graphic Designs on Television/Film pictures, Posters and Handbills, Mass Production, Jacket Designs for film and documentaries etc. Students of the post production class are led into the essentials of packaging media products to meet with the ever changing tastes of the audience within and outside the geographical/cultural territories of the production. The importance of Modular and Relationship Marketing, Total Quality Management (TQM) in film and television products among others shall be deeply explored.
Photography(Still & Motion)
Persons who enrol for the photography class shall be exposed to the creativity behind the artistic shots used in the dynamic field of cinematography and television recordings, drawing practicalities from local and world class photography within the context of production. Equipment handling techniques will enhance the students’ capacity in maintaining equipment, gadgets and other materials in their possession while ensuring optimum performance over a long period of time. It is a Photographer’s delight to be relevant in every phase of local and international film/television productions.
